This scenario is based off an X-Files episode of the same name ("Darkness Falls") - having seen this episode is not a huge spoiler, as playing the story itself is fun, but if you are playing with someone who doesn't know the episode, let them be the lead and make the decisions.
I've only included the fronts of encounter cards in here so that you can just pop them into sleeves with extra encounter cards (like the ones in your extra core set, maybe?). There is also a file in here called "Encounters-Reskinned-Fronts Only.pdf" - This file contains core set encounter cards that I just rethemed for this scenario. If you want to save some toner and paper, you can just use the Ancient Evils encounter set and the Striking Fear encounter set and just, I don't know, pretend they make sense thematically. All I did was reskin those cards to make them match the theme. Enjoy!

I just played this with my husband and it was really fun. For me especially as a life-long X-Files fan, and Darkness Falls being my favorite episode!
I really enjoyed how themed the entire thing was. Very fitting. Enjoyed the variations and mechanics, as well as what was an unexpected and well designed twist (no spoilers).
The only small criticism I have is that I do wish the main enemy was a bit more terrifying. But still, thoroughly enjoyed the two play-throughs we did tonight. (There were a couple of small typos but they weren‘t too bad.)
Now I can think of so many X-Files episodes that would make great Arkham scenarios! Thanks for the fun, we really appreciate your work!

Hi I've just played Darkness Falls or Gdy zapada zmierzch (Polish translation), true solo with Rex Murphy. I had really big fun as it was my favourite childhood TV series. big compliments to Justin B. I hope this is first part of long campaign X files scenarios. Thematically, really cool.
I played it true solo on expert. I kept my chaos bag as it was on my last game which was set much harder than the Darkness Falls instructions advise for expert, plus I wasted a few actions, yet I found it much too easy. Enemies need more hit points, that might fix it.
I found the connections between locations very confusing; the Logging Camp doesn't show the symbols of the revealed Arkham Woods, the Old Growth Clearcut location has a symbol that mysteriously leads to no other location, and the Service Road location has a symbol that no other location leads to. There are some notes on some locations that clear some of these issues up, but its easy to forget to read the notes on unrevealed locations. It would be better just to replace the Core-set locations used with custom print-out locations made for purpose.

Hi I am a little confused as to how to put it together. The rar contains reskins. If I print the reskins, do I still need to add cards from the core set? if so, which ones?
